Small rituals that ground me

I have rituals.

No strict rules – but clear, small routines that are good for me.

My mornings take time.

I don't wake up quickly.

I'm having breakfast in peace.

I've given up coffee – and that was the right thing for me.

Instead, I love silence or quiet music that slowly accompanies me into the day.

I used to be a real grouch in the morning.

Not anymore.

Today I even smile when someone else is one.

Maybe because I've learned not to put pressure on myself in the mornings anymore.

It's important to me to bundle up.

Into a cozy blanket or my bathrobe.

That sounds trivial – but it isn't.

I used to own neither a cuddly blanket nor a bathrobe.

Today I know how much these little things give me support.

I deliberately plan plenty of time for myself.

Not because everything always has to run perfectly,

but so that I can approach everything without stress.

And if it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world.

I simply realize then:

My rituals make me much more relaxed.

I had to learn how to relax.

It didn't happen by itself.

Today, it is an important part of mindfulness for me.

– and self-love.

These rituals don't make my life any more spectacular.

But they make it softer.

And quieter.

And that's exactly what grounds me.
